Separated At Birth? M’aiq The Liar from Skyrim And The Talking Skull From Thief (2014)
If you have played Thief (2014), the ‘Happy Medium’ side mission (better known as ‘The Talking Skull’ mission) is one of the highlights not only of the game but the whole series, with some wonderful moments of genuine thigh slapping hilarity.
The series has never been known for its humour, apart from the running ‘Taffer’ gag and allowing players to oil the Docks in Thief 3: Deadly Shadows to make the City Watch and citizens fall in the water, but this particular mission makes for a delightful detour in more than game progression respects, as Garrett following a bumbling sot waddling back to his hideout (eventually) to retrieve the Talking Skull he stole.
Upon finally retrieving the skull, users will be amused to find the wonderful skull (why couldn’t Garrett get to keep him?) sounds remarkably similar to M’aiq the Liar, wandering loony of Skyrim (and Morrowwind, Cyrodil and Solstheim of course!).
Heh heh heh!
