Incredibly Unfascinating Facts From The World Of Vexacious Sims 3 Vexillology (Part One)

20 September, 2022

Some of the flags of the Sims world have the most fascinating stories behind them.

Actually, they don’t, but just humour me on this one.

Join me in some of the fascinating tales behind some of the flags of our Simming world:

The Moon Parrot League aka The League of Lucky 25

The League of Lucky 25 – more commonly referred to as the Moon Parrot League for obvious reasons – is a group of eight islands, ostensibly owned by KayPapagei, with past links to the golden age of piracy, hence the crossed cutlasses on its general flag.

Greystone Island

Greystone Island is one of those in the middle of a group of islands, and used by those surrounding it for both work and leisure.

The circle of sharks motive is something of a local joke concerning a bizarre phenomena occurring on the side of the island’s sole small pier.

Large groups of circling sharks have been known to gather for reasons as of yet unexplained. Whether this is for purposes of mating, or whether some unknown natural cause is responsible for these gatherings has never been determined.

What is known is that the sharks immediately disperse the moment any Sim comes near them, either on sea or even at the end of the pier …

Paradise Island

It is claimed that the spiky details are representative of the palm tree leaves all over the island as seen from above, but more cynical observers have suggested that it represents the Bounty Bar wrapper the sgraffito sketch for the flag was made on in a hurry.

Tiny Island

The appropriately named Tiny Island has on it a representation of its one aquatic anomaly, the Tiny Island Black Sea Horse, commonly referred to as the Black Sea Horse Of Complete And Utter Evil And Stuff.

Large sea kelp forests around the islands far outer extremities have allowed its sea horse population to become self contained and protected from being swept away by ocean currents. Due to its diet and head spines, it is completely inedible to other species, and as such can grow up to one foot in size.

Like all sea horses they eat constantly, but their habit of seeming to attack swimmers has given them their fearsome repution. In reality, the sea horses take advantage of the hair on human bodies or the electostatic charge created by wetsuits in the water to scoop up the planktons which are swept up by Sim intruders into their aquatic domain.

However, they have been known to show their disdain for marine pollution by taking items they are able to hold in their strong tails such as cotton buds, plastic straws, etc., and upon encountering stationary swimmers, attempting to shove them up their arses.
